MiMAC offers 5 key services. These include a kit hire service for digital video cameras, microphones, lights and edit suites. This is presently based around the Canon XL1 and the HDV Canon XLH1 and the Canon XHA1. We can also supply full production crews including steadicam and post production editors. MiMAC is a pioneer of moving image education within the schools and community sectors and offers animation, news and drama projects for young people and other groups. As a film company run by filmmakers, we have a strong production track record that includes broadcast and cinema work. We are active in fiction drama, documentary, corporate and event capture.
A key element of the company is Channel Fife, where we mentor and promote the work of the independent film sector in Scotland and provide programme-making opportunities.
Production
MiMAC is a producer of Commercial, documentary, promotional and Educational DVDs. We can supply the whole process from research and script development, through to filming, editing and final delivery onto DVD and Web Ready files. We work with businesses, government agencies and the charitable sector. We work closely with the private sector and have a partner in the film production company, Glass Bullet Productions Ltd. with whom we cooperate on a number of commercial productions.

Event Capture
Multi camera shoots and pod casts and live web casts including 'Beautiful Scotland in Bloom' and the 'Enchanted Forest'.

MiMAC supplies a full BECTU crew and equipment and our Broadcast credits include ‘Machinima’ and ‘And So Goodbye’ for Scottish Television.

Schools and Community

MiMAC works with schools and a range of community organisations in delivering moving image educational projects covering animation, newsgathering and drama. Our Tutors have experience of working in the college and university sectors and all our Tutors hold Enhanced Disclosures. We can also help you with funding, so do contact us even if your organisations has no funds for this type of activity.

HIRE

Equipment
MiMAC operates an equipment hire service for digital video equipment and edit suites. Any MiMAC-Rushes member can hire equipment.

The equipment available for hire includes a High Definition Canon XL-H1 and a Canon XH-A1. These are both excellent HDV pro camcorders suitable for television and corporate work.

MiMAC can also provide the true workhorse of the Indy Film Makers toolkit – the Canon XL1 and the DV grand daddy of them all – the Sony VX1000. All cameras come with tripods. We are offering a special cheap package on these if you are a student or recent graduate.

MiMAC can also supply microphone kits, compatible with all our cameras. Plus lighting kits and various other ancillary equipment.

Facilities
MiMAC can also offer for hire edit suites running Final Cut Pro, Premiere and After Effects. These can only be used on our premises.

Note: only the MiMAC-Rushes member named on the membership card can hire equipment by producing a valid MiMAC-Rushes membership card. MiMAC-Rushes membership is not transferable only the cardholder cans hire/collect/return equipment from MiMAC-Rushes.

Training

MiMAC offers specialised one to one tuition in Final Cut Studio HD and HDV film making skills. Other tuition is available on request depending on the availability of external tutors. The fee is £ 200 for an all day worshop, specially tailored to your skill requirements and knowledge base.

Due to demand these workshops are offered on a Saturday as part of a rolling programme. Workshops are run once we have five people booked on. Fee per person is £ 40.
